Hanna O.A.
Bachelor of Science, Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Design
Hanna (she/her) holds a Bachelor of Science from UBC and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Design from KPU. Her diverse professional background includes working as a Research Assistant, Design Assistant, and Software Developer. She also brings many years of experience supporting children in Math and Science through tutoring and working as an Educational Assistant.
Through her many different experiences, Hanna has developed a passion for bringing diverse perspectives and approaches into the classroom. She believes that every student has their own unique way of solving problems and is committed to creating a learning environment where students feel confident, supported, and empowered to discover what works best for them.
Born in Seoul, S.Korea, Hanna moved to Canada at the age of 11 and learned English and French from the ground up. As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of navigating a new language and culture, she is especially empathetic toward students from non-English-speaking households. She hopes to support students as they build both their academic skills and confidence while navigating language and cultural differences.
Outside the classroom, Hanna enjoys baking sourdough bread, going for runs along the seawall, and spending time with her family—including her son, K, who is currently obsessed with trains.
