We Are Now Lightwell Learning

Our name is changing. The people, expertise, programs, and commitment behind our work are not.

On September 2, 2026, Learn. Develop. Succeed. becomes Lightwell Learning.

Our new name better reflects the organization we have become and the future we are building, helping more learners access exceptional, individualized support and creating brighter possibilities for learning and life.

Why the change?

Learning and brain-based differences can be complex. Families are often asked to navigate a great deal of information, advice, and uncertainty.

Our role is to make the path clearer.

As our organization has grown, so have our expertise, our reach, and our ambition for the future.

Lightwell Learning better reflects the breadth and quality of our work today and our commitment to expanding access to the right support, at the right time, for more learners and families.

Why Lightwell?

A lightwell is an intentionally designed opening that brings natural light into a space.

It takes expertise to design it well, care to understand what is needed, and purpose to make a meaningful difference.

That is what we strive to do for every learner.

We bring together specialized expertise, evidence-informed instruction, innovative technology, and a deep understanding of each learner.

We build on strengths, adapt support to the person, and create practical, personalized pathways that help learners make progress, build confidence, and unlock their potential.

Looking ahead

Lightwell Learning reflects our ambition to grow as a centre of excellence in personalized, neuroaffirming learning support.

We want more learners and families to benefit from the expertise, care, and quality that have defined our work for more than five decades.

Thoughtful and innovative use of technology will help us extend our reach across Canada, making specialized support more accessible while preserving the personalized, human relationships at the heart of what we do.

Because excellence and accessibility should go together.

More learners should have access to the right expertise, at the right time.

What this means for you

Our name is changing. The support you know and trust is not.

You will continue to find the same people, expertise, programs, and commitment at Lightwell Learning.

Beginning September 2, you will see the Lightwell Learning name and identity across our website, communications, social channels, signage, and other materials.

Our goal is to make the transition as clear and seamless as possible.

A new chapter in more than 50 years of impact

Lightwell Learning may be a new name, but our story began more than five decades ago.

In 1970, a group of parents came together because their children were not getting the educational support they needed. What began as a small parent-led association has grown into an expert-led, evidence-informed nonprofit supporting a growing number of children, youth, and adults with learning and brain-based differences.

Over the decades, our reach has expanded, our programs have evolved, and our understanding of how best to support each learner has continued to deepen.

That history is not something we are leaving behind. It is the foundation we are building on.

Lightwell Learning is a new name for the organization we have become – and the future we are building.

The same trusted people. The same commitment to every learner. A bigger opportunity to unlock potential, change trajectories, and help more learners thrive.
